Do you ever have those days that just get away from you? I looked at my calendar last night and saw nothing on it. But since the crack of dawn I have been running around like a crazy person doing all kinds of things.
I meant to spend the morning driving Miss 5 to preschool and buying milk, eggs, and cereal. Then I realized I didn’t actually know where preschool was, (we have a new person in our co-op) so instead of driving, I called a fellow mom and asked her to grab Miss 5 for me.
Than I answered the phone and was asked to babysit a few little kiddos while another mom ran to the doctor. No problem-o. Except that my basement/toy room area was a hideous disaster from the night before. My girls have been playing zoo. In order to play zoo, they dump out every single toy out of every single toy box so that they can use them for cages. And they have been playing zoo for days now, so you can imagine the kind of mess I’m talking about.
this mess is so big and so deep and so tall,
we can not pick it up,
there is no way at all-
Except I’m the mom, so I had to pick it up. All of it. And I wasn’t planning on picking all of it up this morning before 9 am, but so be it.
Not only did I answer the phone this morning, I also checked e-mail. Checking e-mail led to me volunteering to put together read-a-thon packets for the school. I guess that is how I’ll be spending my evening. After I teach some piano lessons, make dinner, and run to the church to do some work that I just remembered about now that I’m writing this. phew!
I’m sort of just holding my breath at this point, waiting to see what other twists and turns this day has for me. I’m obviously not in charge of it. It’s got a life of it’s own. At some point, I’m sure I’ll buy milk. Other than that, it’s anybody’s guess.
